Snowy and Cold

Watching from my kitchen window;

There they are,
Jumping from the naked tree limb
Onto inches of cold snow
Scampering, digging,
They know it’s here somewhere.

Here we are,
Falling, falling, deep
Into darkness of icy waters
Screaming words of silence,
We pray it’s still here somewhere.

Snow mounds falling onto snow covered ground
Exposing tidbits of food
Why do squirrels have grey hair even when they’re young?

Cold words falling, falling, falling
Exposing nothingness
Why do we love this way?

dang that took a turn at albequerke...i was all happy and peaceful watching the birds and...whammo. beautifully done, and we did not have to dig for that food for thought.

screaming words of silence.
I know how this works.
Very well done Jess

Jessie, that was great!

We pray it's still here somewhere. Sometimes we need to give up praying and move on!
